Green Fern Building Services were appointed as Principal Contractor to work in collaboration with Sharpe Architecture, delivering a contemporary and refined home that remains entirely suited to modern family life. The brief required a careful balance: a sleek, design-led interior and rear elevation, while preserving the character and integrity of the original property.

Our role extended beyond construction alone. Working alongside the design team, we coordinated the build to ensure that architectural intent, material selection, and detailing were consistently realised on site, resulting in a cohesive and well-executed scheme.
A central challenge of the project was maintaining the home’s 19th-century character to the front elevation, ensuring it remained sympathetic to the surrounding streetscape. This traditional façade was deliberately contrasted by a contemporary rear elevation and interior layout, creating a clear distinction between old and new without compromising the building’s identity.
